Bertha Blanche GRIFFIN quietly slipped away into Eternity at the home of her brother on October 19, 1970. She was the daughter of Elmer and Cordelia Clodfelter Johnson and was born at the old JOhnson Place in Russell Twp on Jan 19, 1895. Blanche attended the only two years of high school offered at Russell Center Shcool. On Dec 8, 1912 she was united in marriage to Homer Griffin, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1958. While most of her life was spent in Russell Twp, she also lived in the Roachdale, Greencastle, Manhattan and Indianapolis vicinities. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, both parents and a brother, Clateon. She leaves to miss her a brother, Cyril L. Johnson, a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Johnson, two aunts, Mrs. Tilla Ballard and Mrs. Norma Johnson two uncles, Mr. Wilbur Harbison of Morton and Mr. Art Whitaker of Fairfield, Iowa, several cousins and friends. Blanche accepted the Lord early in life and earnestly tried to serve Him all of her life. She was a real sister and friend to those who knew her. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. " Ps 116:15

Blanche GRIFFIN passed away at the home of her brother, south of Russellville. She was born Jan 20, 1895, the daughter of George and Cordelia Clodfelter Johnson. She was a member of the Waveland Baptist Church and Pythian Sisters of Russellville. She is preceded in death by her husband Homer Griffin, who passed away in 1968. She is survived by one brother, Cyril Johnson of Russellville and one aunt, Tilla Ballard of Waveland. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at McGaughey & Sons Funeral Home, Russellville. Rev. Carlyle Scott will be in charge. Burial in Hebron Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p. m. Tuesday.
